  • The laugh at the start of the album was Olly laughing at Gale, they kept this in as a showing of spirit.
  • Stone Thrown was an old b side originally, the lyrics and title changed slightly for the album.
  • Little Brother was written after the suicide of a young friend.
  • Rain City is the original 4 tack version as no other versions came close to the ultimate vibe of this track.
  • The sound at the start and end of Rain City are from a Las Vegas casino. They were in the chords of E, which supposedly creates feelings of elation, making people spend more gambling! Go to Las Vegas to hear for yourselves.
  • Ether Song, the hidden track holds the meaning behind the album... It is hidden in the Ether.

Where' my army? Was recorded at home and inspired by the looming tension in Iraq. This version of Little Brother was recorded with Adrian Uttley from the group Portishead.

  • The Director made his music video debut with this video, he usually makes commercials!
  • Shot on location in Prague.
  • This video was about floods of water pouring through a building with Olly and Gale in, however, outside this was really happening as it was during the terrible floods in Prague which destroyed much of the beautiful city.

  • The Optimist was recorded on the first day in the studio.

  • The Song should have been released as Emergency 72 as on the album, but due to the release date being so close to the tragedy of September 11th, 'emergency' had to be removed! This meant that not only the title was changed but also the original artwork to go with it!
  • The last and first time was recorded at home.
  • Lasso is a live favorite!

  • Filmed in a studio in London.
  • This is the only video so far to feature the full band who play live with Turin Brakes.

Released on CD & Vinyl. Only 500 of each were ever made. This was TB's introduction to the record industry by Brighton Based Anvil Records, all of the songs were recorded at home and it first began selling in Independent Hip Hop and Dance record stores.

The sleeve was photographed in Dungeoness, by Ollys dad. The cover concept to dress up in a wolf and yeti costumes was from Olly and Gale.
